Qnity™ and its affiliated entities (together “Qnity”) value your trust and are committed to the responsible management, use and protection of personal information.  This Careers Site Privacy Notice (“Notice”) describes our privacy and data protection practices in connection with all the information collected by Qnity, online and offline, to facilitate your application for a job within the Qnity family and includes your use of our Careers site, located at  https://careers.qnityelectronics.com/us/en  (the “Careers Site”).  This notice applies regardless of whether your application is made through our Careers Site or any other recruitment channels available to Qnity.  Personal information submitted elsewhere on Qnity’s web sites will be used in accordance with our general online Privacy Statement (located at https://www.qnityelectronics.com/privacy.html  or the privacy notice on the applicable website.)   

If an offer of employment is extended and you accept, additional personal information will be collected in preparation for your employment with Qnity.  Following acceptance of an offer, the Qnity Employee Privacy Notice will apply to the collection and use of your personal information.  Please note that nothing in this Notice or the Qnity Employee Privacy Notice constitutes an offer or promise of employment with respect to any position.  

Submitting your personal information is entirely voluntary and you are free to decide what types and how much personal information you wish to submit to us.  However, if you choose not to submit your personal information, your choice may limit our ability to consider your application, or, if you are hired, to consider you for a subsequent promotion, transfer, or relocation.

By agreeing to this Applicant Privacy Notice, you agree that your personal information may be transferred to the United States or any other country where Qnity may conduct business, which may have a different data protection regime than the country in which you reside. 
Where we have relied upon your consent to process personal information provided by you, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time to the extent permitted by law.  

Information We Collect
Information You Provide 
This Notice covers any personal information you submit to apply or search for a position at Qnity.  If you apply through the Careers Site as part of the job application or job search process, the following information may be collected:     
  • Name, contact information; 
  • Log-in and password; 
  • CV, résumé, cover letter, previous work experience and education information; 
  • Employment preferences, willingness to relocate, current salary, desired salary and how you heard about the Careers Site; 
  • Professional and other work-related licenses, permits and certifications held; 
  • Language and other relevant skills; 
  • Awards and professional memberships; 
  • Work authorization status, available start date; 
  • Information relating to references; and 
  • Any other information you elect to provide to us. 
We ask that you do not submit the following information which may qualify as sensitive information under applicable law, except where Qnity asks for that information because it is legally required:  information on race, religion, ethnicity, nationality, or national origin, age, gender identity, sex life or practices or sexual orientation, marital status, medical or health information (including disability status), genetic or biometric data, political or philosophical beliefs, political party or trade union membership, background check information, judicial data such as criminal records or information on other judicial or administrative proceedings, and veteran status. To the extent you provide us such sensitive information, you expressly authorize Qnity to collect and use such information for the purposes outlined in this Notice. 

Any information you submit through the Careers Site must be true, complete and not misleading.  Should the information provided be inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading, subject to applicable law, this may lead to a rejection of your application during the application process or disciplinary action including immediate dismissal if you have been employed.  In addition, it is your responsibility to ensure that information you submit does not infringe on any third party’s rights and is not otherwise legally actionable by such third party. 

If you intend to provide us with details of a reference or any other third party as part of your CV/résumé, it is your responsibility to obtain consent from that third party prior to providing the personal information to us. 

Information We Collect   
Qnity may obtain information about you from your references or from a background check report in connection with your application, as permitted by applicable law. We may collect information about you from publicly available sources.  Qnity may also generate reports, background documents, screenings, etc. to better assess your application and make recruitment decisions.  
 
Use of Personal Information 
We collect and process personal information when: (i) required by applicable law; (ii) necessary to take steps at your request prior to entering into an employment contract with you; (iii) necessary to protect the vital interests of any person; or (iv) we have a legitimate interest to do so. We have a legitimate interest in collecting and processing personal information, for example, to 
  • process your application and assess your capabilities and qualifications for a job; 
  • conduct reference checks; 
  • provide to you any services available on the Careers Site and monitor the operation and performance of our sites; 
  • respond to your inquiries and communicate with you about your application; 
  • comply with or monitor compliance with any applicable law or regulation; 
  • monitor and record services whether provided by Qnity or a third party; 
  • conduct background checks if you are offered a job, in certain countries and as permitted by local laws;  
  • notify you about changes to the Career Site, our services, or other employment opportunities;  
  • draft the offer letter or employment contract;  
  • manage complaints, feedback, and queries;  
  • protect against fraud or other illegal activity or for risk management purposes;  
  • respond to inquiries or requests from government or public authorities; and 
  • to preserve our other legitimate interests, for example, for Qnity’s administrative purposes, aggregate management reporting, internal training, and as generally required to conduct our business within Qnity and its affiliates. 

We may also request your consent to collect, use, transfer, and disclose (“process”) personal information you submit in circumstances where it is required and/or permitted by local law. Additionally, we may process your personal information to take steps at your request prior to entering into prospective employment. Where we have relied upon your consent to process your personal information, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time to the extent permitted by law. This right only applies where we process personal information based upon your consent. 

For more sensitive special categories of personal information (such as racial or ethnic origin, religious or philosophical beliefs, health data or details concerning sex life or sexual orientation) we will, to the extent permitted by applicable local law, rely on one or more of the other legal justifications set forth above and typically one of the following additional justifications, to the extent permitted by applicable local law: the use is necessary to carry out obligations and exercise our or your specific rights under employment laws; or the use is necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, or whenever courts are acting in their judicial capacity (for example, when a court issues a court order requiring the processing of personal information); or with your consent. Additional legal justifications may also be available in the country in which you are based, and we may also rely on these justifications from time to time.  
Qnity may anonymize and/or aggregate your personal information and, to the extent permitted by applicable law, use and disclose such anonymized and/or aggregated information for any purpose.  
 
Disclosure of Personal Information 
Qnity may share personal information with affiliates that are involved in Qnity’s recruitment and hiring processes. Qnity Electronics, Inc. and the local Qnity subsidiary to which you submit your application will remain responsible for the personal information collected.  Your personal information will be reviewed by Qnity employees or agents who have a business need to access such personal information and may include recruiters, human resources personnel, technical services (IT) personnel and managers or their designees. 

We may share personal information about you with selected service providers or consultants acting on our behalf, such as third parties assisting Qnity with the hosting and operation of the Careers Site, recruiting assistance, background check processing, and similar services.  These third parties will be required to use appropriate measures to protect the confidentiality and security of personal information. 

Qnity may also disclose personal information as we believe to be necessary or appropriate under applicable law, including laws outside your country of residence in order to: (a) to comply with the law or legal process; (b) to respond to requests from public and government authorities within or outside of your country of residence; (c) to enforce our terms and conditions; (d) to protect our operations or those of any of our affiliates; (e) to protect our rights, privacy, safety or property, and/or that of our affiliates, you or others; (f) to allow us to pursue available remedies or limit the damages that we may sustain; and (g) in the event of any reorganization, merger, sale, joint venture, assignment, transfer or other disposition of all or any portion of our business, assets, or stocks (including any bankruptcy or similar proceeding). 

The information that you submit on the Careers Site will be stored in the United States (and in the relevant jurisdiction(s) if the job relates to one of Qnity’s affiliated entities outside of the United States).  It will be reviewed and processed for the purposes described in this Notice by employees, consultants and/or service providers of Qnity affiliates around the world. 

If you are located in the European Economic Area (the “EEA”) we may transfer your personal information to countries outside of the EEA.  Some of these countries are recognized by the European Commission as providing an adequate level of protection according to EEA standards (the full list of these countries is available here  Adequacy decisions | European Commission (europa.eu)). With regard to transfers from the EEA to other countries, we have put in place adequate measures, such as standard contractual clauses adopted by the European Commission to protect your information.  Individuals in the EEA may obtain a copy of these measures by contacting us at the address listed below, under the ‘Contact Us’ section. 
 
Data Retention 
Qnity retains your personal information only as long as necessary for evaluation of employment, as well as to comply with applicable laws relating to the evaluation of those seeking employment and/or to defend claims made against Qnity.  After this time, your personal information shall be retained in accordance with local law and with the Qnity Data Retention Policy.  
Qnity may remove personal information for inactive accounts from our records, subject to any applicable legal or regulatory obligations.  Note that Qnity may delete personal information about you at any time (including your CV/résumé), without any reason.  Therefore, please retain your own copy of the personal information provided to us. 
 
Passive Information Collection: Cookies and Similar Technology 
We and our service providers may use “cookies” and similar technologies on the Careers Site.  Cookies are data that a web server transfers to an individual's computer for record keeping purposes.  We use cookies and other technologies to better serve you with more tailored information and facilitate your ongoing access to and use of our Careers Site.  If you do not want information collected through the use of cookies, there is a simple procedure in most browsers that allows you to automatically decline cookies, or to be given the choice of declining or accepting the transfer of a particular cookie, or cookies from a particular web site to your computer.   
 
Access and Correction 
Subject to applicable law, you may access, review, and change some of the personal information collected about you and stored on the Career Site.  Please note that certain personal information may be exempt from such access, correction, or objection rights pursuant to local data protection laws. 
Should you elect to make changes to your profile on the Careers Site, the Qnity Recruitment Team has the ability to see all the history of changes that you may make in your own profile.  The updated profile will be used as the default the next time you apply for a job using your account online.  To change personal information that you already have submitted for consideration for a specific position, please resubmit your application for that position and include the updated personal information about you in the application.  We encourage you to promptly update your personal information if it changes or is inaccurate.  Upon your request, we will deactivate or remove your personal information from our active databases, although some information may be retained as permitted under applicable law.

Security 
We take reasonable precautions to safeguard personal information transmitted through the Careers Site and stored on our servers.  Unfortunately, no method of transmitting or storing data can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.  Do not send sensitive information via email.  It is your sole responsibility to use the appropriate level of care whenever communicating with us. 
If you have reason to believe that your interaction with us is no longer secure (for example, if you feel that the security of any account you might have with us has been compromised), please immediately notify us of the problem by contacting us at the address listed below, under the ‘Contact Us’ section. 
Qnity hereby disclaims, as far as permitted by local laws, any liability for itself and its affiliated companies and contractors for any of your information sent to our Careers Site and which is lost, misused, illegally accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed or not integrally or timely delivered to our Careers Site.

The Careers Site is not intended for distribution to, or use by, any person or entity in any jurisdiction or country where such distribution or use would be contrary to local law or regulation. 
 
About Minors 
The Careers Site is not intended for minors under the age of 18 (except for paid U.S. high school interns age 14 or over). 
 
Current Workers of Qnity 
If you currently work for one of Qnity’s business units, you must be eligible to apply for a position in a different business unit within Qnity to use the Careers Site. If you accept such a position, your benefits programs and Human Resources policies may change.
